As a Graduate in the Trainee Program you have the opportunity to get to know different divisions and to gain valuable experience. The semi-structured program with a combination of predefined and flexible stations also includes the opportunity to gain international experience and work in various business units.
You receive extensive training and learning measures tailored to your needs, consisting of trainings, workshops, a group project and a power plant assignment. Coaching, support by an individual mentor and an assigned buddy round off the program. The Engineering department delivers specialist engineering and asset management solutions. Its setup reflects the overall operational responsibilities. The various business areas within the department concentrate on the respective engineering activities and market segments.
IT - Corporate IT
The area of Corporate IT enables Uniper´s success by delivering effective technology, actionable information, and changes that improve the business and Commercial Operations. The key tasks of the IT department are to define, shape and communicate Uniper´s IT strategy, as well as to define IT governance.
IT - Data Management
The area of Data Management enables Uniper´s success by delivering actionable information, making Uniper’s data orderly, accessible and up to date, supporting compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, and keeping Uniper’s information safe.
Internal Audit & ICS
Internal auditing is an independent, objective assurance and consulting activity designed to add value and improve Uniper’s operations. It helps Uniper accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes. Our vision is to deliver assurance & advice wherever the business goes.
Finance - Group Finance
Our Finance Department is the first contact point for the business for all financial matters. It drives performance discussions for the existing business, critically assessing new operating or strategic initiatives and has the ultimate goal together with the business to secure and create value for Uniper.
Finance - Business Controlling
Our Controlling Departments within the Finance Board Area are the first contact points for the business for all financial matters. It drives performance discussions for the existing business, critically assessing new business opportunities or strategic initiatives and has the ultimate goal together with the business to secure and create value for Uniper.
Procurement serves as an interface between the business‘ specific needs and its final fulfilling. It is the activity of obtaining or buying goods and services from the market. The role of Procurement commences with the understanding of the business requirements and emphasizes upon delivering the most suitable and lifetime cost-efficient solution.
Energy politics is a key enabler for a broad-based dialogue of Uniper and its top management with different major stakeholders – i.e. employees and leadership team, journalists, analysts and investors as well as parts of the general public. The main task is to be responsible for creating a clear profile of the company.
Uniper’s Sales Business develops and sells standard and complex delivery concepts for power and gas supply as well as innovative services to industrial customers, resellers and public utilities. Uniper Energy Sales is one of the leading wholesalers in the German market, also reaching out to neighboring countries.
Asset Operations - Focus on Hydro (at Landshut)
Our function is to lead all asset operations related activities for Uniper across coal, gas, hydropower and storage technologies on a worldwide basis in order to deliver the best commercial value for Uniper's assets. We manage associated risks, balancing commercial and operational needs in order to seize significant opportunities for a sustainable business success.
We provide the operational frameworks, processes, systems and tools required to manage the entire asset portfolio and are responsible for the development and execution of the asset strategy across all countries and technologies. In order to maximize the commercial value of the assets we work in close alignment with our plant management.
Trading & Commercial Track
Uniper's commercial area encompasses gas upstream, supply and optimization as well as power marketing and global energy trading activities. The organization's objective is to create value by developing and monetizing our portfolio through having superior insight into our assets, markets, customers and business partners.
OE is a holistic approach to continuously improve the way we do business. Transforming Uniper into a continuously improving organisation and sustaining the results in a structured way requires changes to our operating standards and practices, to the way we think and behave, make decisions and improve our performance. Thereby, we draw on well-known and proven methodologies like Lean Management and Six Sigma.
Innovation is responsible to identify, evaluate and develop new profitable business models for Uniper, steer the market testing via pilots in cooperation with Uniper business and manage ideation and portfolio of innovation activities. Innovation holds and allocates group wide budget for implementation of innovation pipeline consisting of desktop studies, concept development and market testing via pilot projects in the business.
HR actively supports all business areas in all people related topics. It is responsible for the talent acquisition, development and the ongoing employee journey within Uniper.

|The first step is your online application, where you can upload all relevant information about yourself, your CV and reference letters.||If the CV has been successfully assessed, you are invited to an online test. You will need approximately 30 minutes to complete the test.||In a third step applicants who have mastered the first two rounds will be invited to a Cultural Fit Check.||After you succeeded our Cultural Fit Check you will be invited to the "Recruitment Day", where future managers conduct intensive, personal interviews with you.||After all candidates have been invited for personal interviews during the Recruitment Days, a decision will be made where the successful candidates will receive an offer.||You will start your Trainee Program with the onboarding week. Here we will welcome you on board and provide you with all information needed for a smooth start.|
