One day with… Lisa, Category Manager

Summary

Easy onboarding, introduction, and collaboration – all from home

Six months after her digital onboarding from home, Lisa Gough, Category Manager – Mechanical and Electrical at Uniper, has already gathered a lot of great experiences. Even if she has not worked a day in her actual office yet, she got introduced, got to know each team member, talked to people from the Netherlands, Germany or Sweden and got answers on every single question she might have had in the beginning.

“It was strange to be onboarding from home, but it couldn’t have been handled any better. My team was so welcoming, the IT has been easy to set up and was running in less than an hour. When I picked up my laptop on my first day, I already had all of my IDs and passwords. Uniper makes it as easy and comfortable as it could be for people working from home, even if the lights in our real office are still off”, says Lisa. She highlights some aspects, such as the communication with people from around the world, as real benefits of the new normal way of working.

“On the first day, my team sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers to welcome me. Now, six months later, our collaboration works brilliantly, and I am happy to work with these people.” During her first months, Lisa has created a new performance dashboard dialogue and has combined her ideas with the input of her colleagues, she has obtained specifications, has been in contact with engineers as well as suppliers and has coordinated meetings – almost every task is done in teamwork.

“I already have ten years of experience in my role. My tasks are not new for me. But I’m really pleased that I joined Uniper at this time, because our company moves into some forward-thinking areas. Looking at hydrogen, solar power or renewables, there are some real opportunities to grow”, says Lisa.
