Uniper, partner of the "Komm, mach MINT" initiative

Summary

Diverse career and development opportunities for women in STEM professions

Talented women who aspire to a career path in a STEM profession (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, engineering and technology) have come to precisely the right place and are always welcome here at Uniper. By joining the "Komm, mach MINT" initiative, we aim to harness the potential of women in scientific and technical professions and to actively counteract the shortage of skilled workers. Through this scheme, we wish to encourage dialog and make STEM professions within our company more attractive to women in the long term.

Diversity is important to us: We want to give everyone the same opportunities to actively help shape the future of energy, irrespective of the nationality, age, cultural background, sexual orientation, disabilities or gender of our employees. "At Uniper, we know from experience that mixed and diverse teams lead to innovative and creative solutions — and these will also be crucial for Uniper to successfully advance Empower Energy Evolution, our decarbonization strategy," said David Bryson, Chief Operating Officer at Uniper.

As a partner of the "Komm, mach MINT" initiative and an internationally active energy company, we are introducing young professionals to new and exciting opportunities in science and technology degree programs or occupations. Through mentoring programs and the "Women at Uniper" network, our employees have long had the opportunity to share their experiences with colleagues and to inspire each other, or to contact each other with any questions. Numerous events and workshops also provide girls and women with information about the wide range of career opportunities at Uniper.

During Girls' Day, for example, each year pupils get an insight into our day-to-day activities and can visit our power plants or energy trading operations. However, we want to welcome even more talented women to our company and offer them support, for example, through participation in scholarships. We are convinced that the future of energy and our business can provide dedicated young women with amazing opportunities for development — and we aim to convince them of what we have to offer in return.
