|International utility – energy from waste (wood)||Optimize periodicity of inspections for the pressure systems to improve availability and reduce maintenance costs.||We increased outage periodicity using Optimum Pressure Systems Inspection Strategies on pressure systems at two power plants.||Outage periodicity increased on one unit from 2 to 4 years and the other 2 to 3 years.|
|International utility – Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant||Quality issues with gas turbine main contractors.||Our highly-experienced Gas Turbine Build Engineers checked components and build quality.||Blades with blocked cooling ducts were replaced and machine returned to service. Failure to have identified this would have resulted in early replacement of blades and lost generation.|
|International utility – Advanced Super Critical power plant||During a routine inspection defects were identified in the reheater 2 welds (HR3C - HR3C & HR3C-IN617).||Root cause analysis undertaken – relaxation cracking and stress corrosion cracking safety case, including exclusion zones, developed to enable operation whilst longer term solutions explored.||Longer term solution subject to approvals. Our developed safety case avoided two months lost generation at highest (winter) generation prices.|
