We’re progressively decarbonizing each of these businesses. We also offer services that help other companies do the same. In addition, Germany is the base from which we manage our global businesses like energy trading, gas and LNG. Some of these businesses have outposts as far afield as Chicago, Calgary, Singapore, and Dubai.

Propelling Germany’s energy transition

We’re helping Germany reach its climate targets by quitting and creating. First, we’re quitting coal. By 2024 we’ll have just one coal plant in Germany, whereas our many hydro and gas plants help keep the country’s electricity grids stable with sustainable energy. Second, we’re creating a range of new businesses—renewables, decarbonization services, and hydrogen and related green fuels—that will enable us to decarbonize and grow simultaneously.

Business structure

All of the businesses in our portfolio have two main missions: ensure supply security and propel the energy transition. Find out more about how Uniper's company is organized.
