Dividend policy
Uniper's current dividend policy is subordinate to the financial stabilization measures, which became necessary after the stop of gas deliveries from Russia.
As part of the stabilization package between the Federal Republic of Germany and Uniper, it was agreed - in accordance with the applicable statutory restrictions - that Uniper will not make any dividend payments during the stabilization phase without the consent of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Dividend payout
The decision on the capital reduction resolved in December 2023 restores Uniper's technical ability to distribute dividends and retain earnings in accordance to the applicable legal restrictions. However, it does not contain any statement on the date in which Uniper will pay a dividend again.
Uniper currently assumes that it will not pay a dividend for the financial year 2024.
In the financial year 2023, the high existing accumulated loss of €24.2 billion (HGB individual financial statements) was repaid by the capital measures implemented in December 2023 and with the net income generated. Retained earnings at the end of the year totalled €0.00.
