Sustainability Management

Good corporate governance is a top priority at Uniper. It’s founded on close and efficient collaboration between the Board of Management and the Supervisory Board. It guides all our decision-making and helps ensure that we achieve success responsibly and sustainably.

Sustainability: embedded in our organizational setup and processes

Uniper’s approach to sustainability is holistic and foresighted. Sustainability is firmly anchored in our organizational setup and business processes. The Board of Management has overall responsibility for sustainability. The Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO), who is also a member of the Board of Management, plays a key role. The CSO reports to the Supervisory Board on strategic sustainability activities and also chairs the Uniper Sustainability Council. This cross-functional panel oversees the implementation of our sustainability strategy and governance.

The Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Sustainability (HSSE and S) function defines Group-wide environmental, social and governance (ESG) targets and key performance indicators and manages the ESG risk process. It reports the Group‘s sustainability performance to the Board of Management on a regular basis.
