Alicia – Elektronikerin für Betriebstechnik – Edertal | I'm currently doing my apprenticeship at the Edersee power plant in Hessen. I chose Uniper because I am interested in the generation of energy - especially hydroelectric power. The prejudice of girls in a technical profession was not a problem for me from the beginning, because technically talented women are definitely suited for this profession. I chose a technical profession because this profession is very varied and exciting for me.

Sebastian – Industriemechaniker – Gelsenkirchen | I chose the profession of Industriemechaniker with a focus on maintenance because it keeps most of the career paths open for my future. On the one hand, the profession has a good future, since more and more automation of machines is taking place, which leads to an increased maintenance volume. On the other hand, the training prepares you very well for later studies, as you can gain a lot of practical experience. I chose Uniper because it is a regionally well represented employer. In addition, I heard in advance about the good reputation of the Uniper training. I enjoy working on the milling machine or lathe the most, because you can create a product yourself. It is interesting to see how a manufactured workpiece works in the mechanical construct at the end. After the apprenticeship, I have the option of studying or becoming a mechanical engineering technician.

Aron – Elektroniker für Betriebstechnik – Großkrotzenburg | I started my apprenticeship at the Staudinger power plant last year and am currently doing my basic electrical training in our apprentice workshop. I became aware of the power plant through some friends and did an internship here. I liked it so much that I applied to become an apprentice. I want to gain as much knowledge and skill as possible. In everyday life I like to repair things - understanding how the technology works I can do this even better. I will be taken on for a limited period of one year after passing my final exams. I could well imagine doing my master's or technician's degree after my training. Continuing my career with some studies might also be an option.

Tom – Industriemechaniker – Großkrotzenburg | In my first year of the apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic in the maintenance department and I'm currently doing my basic mechanical training. Since the Staudinger power plant is very well known in our region and I have often driven past it, I have always been fascinated by how such a large power plant works. I also see great opportunities later on to find a good job in municipalities or companies with their own power plants. After my apprenticeship, I'll be taken on for a year and can then decide whether I want to become a master craftsman or go to university. I've always been more of a practical person, so I wanted to do something professionally involving building or repairing. It motivates me when I can make something defective work again.

Simon – Industriemechaniker – Landsberg am Lech | During my apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic, I'm in our training workshop a lot and do practice pieces, for example. Uniper is an interesting company with future opportunities and is very well known and committed in my area. The core topic of my apprenticeship is the working with different materials such as metal. In the course of my training, I also learn how to install, repair and maintain machines in the power plant. My tasks are sometimes difficult, but in the end it's always important to keep moving forward. So I have already learned many new and also very interesting things that I would normally never have understood or known.

Lars and Marcel – Elektroniker für Betriebstechnik – Petershagen | We are in the training workshop and work there on a variety of projects, e.g. we program pump controls or repair various small devices. At the moment we are more often on the road in the company and support our employees, from whom we are taught a lot technically. After graduating from high school, we were looking for an apprenticeship nearby that would offer new opportunities and challenge and promote our strengths. It was important to us that we would be put to varied use and be well prepared for our future profession. Working on projects with our colleagues and mastering challenges motivates us every day.

Lukas and Robert – Industriemechaniker – Petershagen | We are employed in the training factory and produce turned parts for the company on an NC lathe. We came across the training because former trainees raved about the good training and great conditions. In addition, the power plant is known throughout the region for promoting young, motivated people. We are driven by the varied and exciting work in the various areas of the power plant. In addition, the outstanding collegiality among the employees makes for a super working atmosphere - it's simply fun to work here. Putting the processes we learn in theory into practice in the plant and getting to know the complex systems of the power plant better in the process is what is particularly exciting about our current assignment.

René – Elektroniker für Betriebstechnik – Wilhelmshaven | I decided to chose an apprenticeship in the energy sector because I have always been interested in how the energy we use at home is generated. I particularly enjoy putting theory into practice and the varied work with my colleagues. The attractive thing about the apprenticeship is that I'm learning a profession that can be used almost anywhere. I also get to keep up with technical progress very well.

Carlos – Kaufmann für Büromanagement | My apprenticeship focuses on secretarial work/assistance and human resources management.
