Collection and processing of personal data
Personal information refers to all information about your identity, such as your name, e-mail address and postal address. Unless you have agreed otherwise with Uniper, we collect only basic personal information that is necessary for our business relationship such as your name, job title, address, telephone number, e-mail address and other contact information. Such data will only be collected if you provide it to Uniper, for example when you order informational materials, subscribe to an e-mail information service, apply for a job online or participate in a survey or a competition. Uniper collects this data only directly from you and not from other third parties.
Use and disclosure of personal information
Uniper uses your personal information to respond to your request, process your order or give you access to special information or offers you have requested from us. For example, if you fill out an online contact form, Uniper will use that information to contact you regarding your interest in our services.
If necessary, Uniper also uses personal data of its customers and data of participants for marketing purposes if they have expressly consented to this. In this case, Uniper will use the contact information you provide to discuss your interest in our services and to provide you with information about the company, its subsidiaries and partner companies including promotions or events. For this purpose, it may also be necessary for Uniper to pass on your data to companies within the group or external service providers as part of contract data processing. For example, it may be necessary for Uniper to pass on customer data for Customer Relationship Management purposes.
Uniper will not sell your personal data or otherwise market or pass it on to third parties for their advertising purposes. If you have expressly given your consent for this, Uniper will share your information with its subsidiaries and partner companies so that they can contact you directly.
In principle, Uniper will process your data only within the European Union. Data transfers to third countries shall only occur as part of the administration of IT systems in accordance with the provisions on contract processing and only if a) the transmission is generally admissible and b) the special conditions for transmission to a third country are met; in particular, the data importer shall ensure an adequate level of data protection in accordance with EU standard contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data to processors within the context of contract processing in third countries. This is based on the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act and the German Telemedia Act.
Duration of data retention
Uniper will store your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the services or information you require and for the duration of our business relationship. In addition, we store your data only to the extent necessary to comply with statutory retention requirements. We will delete your data immediately when they are no longer needed for the purposes mentioned.

Information on web analysis
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, which are text files that are stored on your computer and that allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information that the cookies generate about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Through IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will, however, be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and truncated there.
Google uses this information on behalf of the operator of this website to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide the website operator with other services related to website activity and Internet usage. Google uses pseudonyms for when doing this. The IP address provided by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data provided by Google.
This website uses ONE technology from Thunderhead, 5th Floor, Ingeni Building, 17 Broadwick Street, London W1F 0DJ. A ONE cookie is stored on your end device. Your recorded user behavior includes which of our websites you visit, how long you stay there, what you “click” or in which fields you enter data (so-called listening and capturing). This serves to improve our website as well as our products and services as such, as we hope that this will give us insights into what our customers or potential customers/users of our websites are interested in and which functions they use and how they use them. The IP address is anonymized immediately as the data is collected.
The following data is recorded: Device manufacturer, device model, type of device (e.g. smartphone, tablet), name and version of operating system, name and version of browser used, location data (geo-coordinates) of the device and accuracy of location data measured in meters, country and city from which the last known interaction with the ONE cookie occurred, a timestamp when the device first and last communicated with the ONE cookie and when geo-coordinates were last available.
The legal basis for this data processing is Article 6 §1 f) GDPR and Article 15 §3 TMG. If you do not wish the ONE cookie to collect and use the above-mentioned data, you can of course use your browser settings to specify that you want to delete the stored cookies or prevent your browser from accepting cookies. We assume that you agree to the setting of cookies if your browser permits this. Furthermore, we expressly point out that the deletion and / or the suppression of the acceptance of cookies are limited, since the browser setting is only valid for the browser currently in use. When using a different or new browser, the browser settings must be re-adjusted.
If you have given your consent, the user behavior data collected by means of the Thunderhead cookie will be processed on a personal basis by linking it to your identity. The purpose of creating your personal customer profile is to enable us to display content that is individually tailored to you and your interests and which we assume could be particularly helpful or interesting for you in your situation. Thunderhead does not receive any personal data. The legal basis for this data processing is Article 6 §1 a) GDPR. The customer profile created in this way will be stored until you either revoke your consent or until our purposes in connection with the contractual relationship existing between us cease to exist. For further information, please refer to the data protection information about the contractual relationship between us.

LinkedIn Insight Tag
This website uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag. The LinkedIn Insight Tag is a tool of the LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland.

A cookie is stored in your browser for this purpose. The data is encrypted, anonymized within seven days and the anonymized data is deleted within 90 days. LinkedIn does not share any personally identifiable information with the owner of this website, but only submits aggregated reports about the website's target audience and advertising performance to our company. LinkedIn also offers retargeting for website visitors so that our company can use this information to deliver targeted advertising outside our website without identifying the LinkedIn member. LinkedIn members can control the use of their personal information for promotional purposes in their account settings.

Use of your IP address
Computers and devices connected to the Internet are assigned a unique number that is called their IP address. Because these numbers are typically assigned in country-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the country (province or city) that connects to the Internet via this computer. Google Analytics captures the IP addresses of website visitors. This allows website owners to analyse which parts of the world their visitors come from. This method is known as geotargeting of IP addresses.
Google Analytics will not pass on the actual IP address information to its customers. In addition, it masks IP addresses – website owners who use Google Analytics can set it so that instead of the entire IP address, only part of it is used for geotargeting. Website owners generally have access to the IP addresses of their website visitors, regardless of the use of Google Analytics.
So-called session cookies are used on the website uniper.energy and all associated subdomains to offer users more convenience. For example, visitors to Uniper websites can continue with an order for a brochure that they have started even after temporarily switching to another page without having to re-enter their own data. A session cookie is also used for web analysis.
Randomly selected visitors are asked if they would like to participate in a user satisfaction survey. Your response of either declining or consenting to take part in this survey will be stored in a permanent cookie, so that you will not be shown this request again at a later date.
At no time will personal data be stored in a cookie.
